How to Enter
The Movieville International Film Festival was created to celebrate and showcase the work of new and emerging filmmakers – providing support, encouragement and inspiration to those new and talented producers by promoting and exhibiting their new and exciting content in the Lakewood Ranch Movie Theaters operated by the Sarasota Film Society.
FEATURE FILMS, SHORTS, DOCUMENTARIES AND ANIMATED CONTENT ACCEPTED.
The overall theme of the film festival will be to celebrate and showcase the Beauty and the Uniqueness of Sarasota, with the exhibition of high quality noteworthy new and groundbreaking motion pictures, Short Features and documentaries at the Sarasota Film Society’s Burns Court Cinema Complex in association with their “Spotlight” series. It will be an inclusive film festival embracing filmmakers from all ethnic backgrounds and communities, both U.S. and International.
Submissions will be carefully vetted and independently judged by a panel of peers to ensure that the content selected will be creatively sound, high quality, noteworthy, and appropriate. This film festival will provide New and Emerging filmmakers with a friendly platform, a supportive environment and an opportunity to display and exhibit their new work to audiences in a first class theater.
Sponsors from the entire business, entertainment and resident community will be invited to participate. Local and National media will partner with us and Celebrities will be invited to attend to both support their content being exhibited as well as mixing with Producers, Directors, Distributors and Hollywood Studio Executives.
The Fish has Historically denoted Friendship and Community – Which is also the Theme of the Movieville International Film Festival. Our key objective is to reach out to the new and emerging community of talented Filmmakers and provide a positive and supportive environment where their latest work can be Viewed, Enjoyed and Celebrated. We are honored to have the opportunity to have World Renowned Sarasota Artist Frank Colson provide the design and the original art for the 2012 Movieville Awards, which so aptly symbolizes the essence of our Film Festival.
